Les mystères de la religion catholique

Question d'origine :
Ma prof de français de troisième C (qui était aussi ma prof de latin et ma prof d'instruction civique :8h/semaine) qui était une femme Ô combien cultivée nous parlait d'une chose que tout mon entourage pourtant porté su le sujet ignore :
Il y aurait dans la religion chrétienne trois grands mystères, je ne me souviens que des deux premiers (enfin je crois, c'était quand même il y a 3 ans) : la rédemption et la transfiguration, le troisième serait peut-être la résurection ?. Mais alors est-ce quelquechose dont on parle vraiment ou est ce un remaniemnt de ma prof. Et sinon pourriez vous m'éclairez sur ces termes .

Le mystère chrétien par excellence est le salut en Jésus-Christ. Mais le terme de mystère a bien d’autres acceptions. Au IVe siècle les Pères de l’église l’appliquent aux sacrements (du reste le mot sacramentum est simplement la traduction latine du mot grec musterion dérivé du verbe muein qui signifie être fermé).
Le terme mystère désigne également ce que Dieu donne à savoir de lui-même, par exemple, sur sa vie trinitaire.
En fait la foi chrétienne tout entière est un mystère, salut par la mort et la Résurrection du Christ, Trinité, Grâce, Baptême, Confirmation, Eucharistie etc….

Votre professeur connaissait bien son catéchisme.
Dans le petit catéchisme catholique, celui des questions et des réponses, en usage du concile de Trente jusqu’à Vatican II, il est dit que « les mystères sont des vérités supérieures à la raison que nous devons croire bien que nous ne puissions pas les comprendre »
Il y est écrit qu'il y a dans la religion catholique quatre mystères qui sont :
1°)La Création : « Dieu a produit le ciel et la terre et tout ce qui s’y trouve par sa parole, c'est-à-dire par sa volonté…. »
2°)La Trinité : « Dieu se révèle en tant que Père, Fils et saint-Esprit. Il n’y a pas trois dieux, mais un seul Dieu en trois personnes »
3°)L’Incarnation : « Le fils unique de Dieu, le Verbe, a assumé la nature humaine. Il s’est incarné… »
4°)La Rédemption : « Par sa mort et sa résurrection, Jésus a apporté le salut au monde. Sa mort en croix fait partie du dessein divin du salut ».
