Bonjour,
Dans le cadre de mon mémoire sur la bibliothèque de Philippe de Lévis, je travaille sur 5 manuscrits qui lui appartenaient et qui sont conservés dans votre bibliothèque.
Je voulais savoir si vous aviez des ressources, travaux universitaires ou autres qui pourraient me permettre d'en savoir plus sur le parcours de ces livres et orienter ma recherche

Bonjour,
Chaque recherche universitaire suppose d'effectuer une "enquête" bibliographique assez poussée. Vous êtes dans cette démarche et il importe que vous veniez consulter au fonds ancien de la bibliothèque municipale de Lyon les éventuelles ressources disponibles et -sur autorisation du conservateur - les exemplaires manuscrits eux-mêmes.
Le fichier manuel de bibliographie des manuscrits n'est pas bavard en ce qui concerne cette bibliothèque de la toute fin de l'époque médiévale. Il indique seulement le catalogue de Françoise Cotton et le catalogue des manuscrits en écriture latine portant des indications de date, de lieu ou de copiste.
Aucun des manuscrits dactylographiés comportant des mémoires d'étude relevant de nos fonds n'a semble-t-il abordé ces manuscrits. Nous reviendrions vers vous si nous trouvions d'autres ressources bibliographiques sur des bases spécialisées.
Une de nos références pourrait vous intéresser toutefois qui éclaire la vie du possesseur Philipe de Lévis (issu d'une famille de barons du Quercy et de Cousan). C'est le Dictionnaire d'histoire et de géographie ecclésiastiques (tome 31) commencé sous la direction de Mgr Alfred Baudrillart.
Les caractéristiques physiques des documents pourraient également vous aider à retracer le parcours des manuscrits, notamment une belle reliure d'origine sur le manuscrit 222.

Afin de compléter la première réponse, nous tenions à vous préciser que nos collections ne comportent pas 5 mais bien 6 manuscrits relevant de la bibliothèque de Philippe de Lévis (de Cousan, et non de Mirepoix en raison du lambel de gueule brochant le tout en chef des armes) :
- Lyon, Bibliothèque municipale de Lyon, Ms 180-181-182-183 (4 volumes).
- Lyon, Bibliothèque municipale de Lyon, Ms 222 (1 volume)
- Lyon, Bibliothèque municipale de Lyon, Ms 309 (1 volume)
Selon les indications bibliographiques collectées via l'Institut de Recherche en Histoire des Textes (IRHT) :
-La bibliothèque nationale de France dispose d'une référence bibliographique où serait abordé le premier des 4 volumes du Speculum historiale (manuscrit 180) : Master of death : the lifeless art of Pierre Remiet, illuminator de Michael Camille. Le dernier de ces volumes (ou manuscrit 183) est évoqué dans Les primitifs et leurs signatures par Fernand de Mély.
- Un mémoire dactylographié semble citer le manuscrit 222 de nos collections, nous vous invitons donc à consulter : L'iconographie des fortifications d'après les manuscrits des XIVe, XVe et XVIe siècles de la Bibliothèque municipale de Lyon.
- Il ne semble pas y avoir d'étude similaire pour le Ms 309 dont le décor s'avère pourtant très soigné.
L'évolution des armes de Philippe Lévis [de Cousan], est retracée par deux fiches originales du fichier peint de l'IRHT identifiant les armes de ce possesseur. Une pour ses armes avant le cardinalat, et une autre avec les cordons et le chapeau de sa nouvelle fonction (il fut nommé par le pape en 1473).
La base Bibale propose également plusieurs autres mentions d'exemplaires arborant les armes de Philippe de Lévis. Outre les manuscrits de la Bibliothèque Municipale de Lyon, il se trouve à la Bibliothèque Sainte Geneviève et à l'Arsenal trois autres manuscrits lui ayant appartenu :
- Paris Bibliothèque Sainte Geneviève Ms 218 (notice accompagnée d'une riche bibliographie) (cf l’autre mention de l’autre manusscrit de l’arsenal 670 ?)
- Paris Bibliothèque de l'Arsenal Ms 628
- Paris Bibliothèque de l'Arsenal Ms 629
En poussant les recherches sur e-codices, une bibliothèque numérique de manuscrits suisse, nous trouvons également la trace d'un autre exemplaire ayant appartenu à Philippe de Lévis. Peut-être ceci pourra-t-il vous donner un aperçu du collectionneur qu'il était au regard de la qualité du manuscrit :
